KuDu
Kudu is a musical Trio of rhythm, emotion and melody. Originating as a cooperative song writing support network, it became apparent that the three core members had a synergy that needed to be explored. As the members; Greg Shaup (drums), Jackson (Bass/Guitar/Vocals), Jody Addicott (Guitar/Bass/Vocals) began supporting each others musical dreams, original songs began to flow like water down a mountain stream. Ebbing and flowing as the trio collaborated on feels and sounds reminiscent to their childhood influences. This collaboration takes the music in directions that each member would not realize on their own. As fate grabbed hold, all those years down in the pocket was preparation for an ensuing musical journey. Kudu's taste for syncopation and sense of groove fit nicely to a tasteful funky blend of Rock, Blues and Soul. Styles combine effortlessly to create undeniable tenacious funky rhythms and soulful sounds. Each member brings a special musical texture to the sound with childhood influences such as Stevie Wonder, Jimmy Hendrix, The Eagles, ZZ Top, CCR, Bob Dylan, Incubus, The Beatles, James Brown, Tom Petty and list goes on and on. Kudu is a band free to explore musical style and does so crossing genres like a Greyhound buss crosses state lines. In a nut shell KuDu will explore any sound that creates interest and excitement. Experienced in Blues, Classic Rock, Alternative, Southern Rock, Folk, Popular Music KuDu’s sound is akin to all of these influences in pursuit of bringing the joy of music to the masses.
